Hello My Name Is...

Ms. Swoffard

Swoffard

I have been teaching for 13 years. I have taught grades 7-12 at The Howard School, Orchard Knob Middle School, Tyner Middle Academy, and now, Washington Alternative Learning Center. I graduated from Tyner High School in 1996. I attended Austin Peay State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Biology. I also earned a master's degree in Instructional Leadership and and my Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee Tech University. I currently teach science, grades 7-12. In all of my classes, I strive to teach students how to think scientifically. One of the most important skills that students can gain from their science classes is scientific reasoning. This is a skill that should be used in our everyday lives, regardless of our career choice.
