The Musical Experience: from the classroom to the performance
The middle school students at Washington Alternative experienced a wonderful culminating activity of their unit on sound by listening to a quintet from the Chattanooga Orchestra. The quintet entertained and educated students at Washington on Thursday, January 15. Each member introduced their specific instrument with technical information, history, and a solo demonstration. Many wonderful selections were played by the group. Members of the quintet are: Kristen Holritz (flute), Bob Burks (oboe), Gordon James (French horn), Bric Anderson (bassoon), and Bob West (clarinet). The staff and students were very thankful to these musical professionals for taking their time to spend with us. It was a very memorable occasion!
